About Dr. Vélez Gaetán

Jelexza J. Vélez Gaetán, M.D., is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Doctor who has served the community in the Tampa Bay Area as a family practitioner for 5 years.

Dr. Vélez was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She graduated from Medical School at Universidad Central del Caribe and completed her residency at Universidad de Puerto Rico. After training, she remained in the residency program as Chief Resident to train other residents.

As a primary care provider, Dr. Vélez specializes in diagnosing and treating complex chronic medical conditions. She enjoys promoting prevention and well-being with her patients, especially within the senior population in Tampa.

Dr. Vélez is fluent in both English and Spanish. In addition to being a doctor, her passions in life include spending time with her husband, two children, and her dog.
